Fairplay, nice result.

Good to see a report for that beach, dont often get them.

With the bridge in the background, looks like your fishing the mouth of the estuary rather than the beach proper, is that right?

Oh, and welcome to the site

Well done. Lovely fish there. Have plans to fish a load of marks up that way. When it ever actually happens is anybodies guess. Great to see nice fish taken at lesser known marks. Fair play 8)

Well Done Mick. No doubt you will be sharing you mark with a few site lurkers over the coming weeks

For all thinking of heading to Laytown over the next while, she is a very difficult nut to crack, and you will have to put in a lot of hours to get any decent results. Local knowledge is key and the features seem to change from year to year.

Sorry, I don't have any up to date info.... I haven't fished it in over a year..... I've managed about 6 Bass and plenty of Flounder to 30cm of the place in about 20 sessions. I've had a lot of blanks as have others that fish it often, that's why I put the post up above. My best from the area is 4lb, but bigger have been caught. By all means, give the place a try, but don't expect it to be easy  It's broken me a few times...
