I am thinking of investing in one of the avet reels for light boat fishing come shore fishing any one any ideas on models, where they can bought in Ireland or uk i'v drawn a blank, is it very expensive to get them shipped over from the USA.

Re: avet reels
Ys Tom does have some but he's very covetous of them, i'm trying to find out is there anywhere this side of the pond so i dont have to pay those ridiculous charges. Not interested in a daiwa have me heart set on a avet i think they are a class reel but a little expensive to import.eric wrote:thought tom had a few of them paul? nice reels, denis was using off the boat the other day for the tope, handled them to perfection, cant remember which one it was, saying the daiwa saltists are beauts too for a lot less money, you will pick one up of veals for about 120 quid

more options here: http://get4it.co.uk/ebay_research/price ... query=avet
this one is from the states, new with blemishes, seems to happen frequently during engraving, sold a lot cheaper as a result: http://cgi.ebay.ie/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie ... SS:IE:1123

Re: avet reels
i have the mxl great reel im sure it will handle just about anything swimming in our waters.
jw had a blue on an avet last week.
i have not really casted with it just an odd bit of uptiding and its very smooth.
get some one going on holidays to USA to bring one home for you, get it delivered to there hotel room
