Re: dingle again
The smaller beaches and estuaries are good for plugging and lure fishing in and around Dingle town itself where there is more shelter from the wind.
The bigger surf beaches such as the ones over the Brandon side (Cloghane & Stradbally) are better suited for beach casting or bait fishing off the bottom as the waves there tend to be bigger and the winds stronger making it too rough to get the plugs and lures out any distance.
Try Fermoyle - both the beach in behind and out towards the sea, it can be a good place for both plugging and fly-fishing for Bass.
You can use a lighter spinning rod that casts up to a 4 onze weight and bait fish for them too.
You don't need to cast out very far on any of the beaches to catch Bass, you only are every trying to get your bait out to the third or forth breaker - that's where the Bass are waiting to ambush their food such as crabs and sandeels.
