Report:With the weather to turn bad at lunchtime I set off early for Wicklow Harbour. Half way there it started to bucket down and i was thinking of turning around, but decided to head on down and check out the pier anyways. It was still raining when I arrived so i just took the small rod and left the beachcaster in the car. The plan was to just get 1 fish so as not to have had a wasted journey so I went down the pier and set up. The rain eased off after a while but i wasnt getting any bites, surely i wouldnt blank at Wicklow Harbour

.Then i got a thump of a bite and landed a pollock, blank saved

, but the plan went out the window and i decided to keep fishing

I got a good few fish in the end, including pollock, whiting, coalies, pouting, tompot blenny and a small sea scorpion. There were a few guys spinning for macks, but none were caught. I tried a few casts but all i got was whiting, i think i reel in too slow which allows the whiting to take the hook. There was a regatta on in the harbour and there was as many human species as fish species . I turned around at one stage and there was an asian guy and a woman in a burqa

. "The lady wants to see the fish",he said, and i told them that i only take photos and put them back. An English guy wanted to buy some fish off me to take his grand kids fishing,,,,,work that one out,, i couldnt , especially as he told me he didnt have a rod:?

All in all, not a bad mornings fishing , with the mack doing ok,,,,,,no wrasse biting

,,, wonder what it would have been like if i had worms
