After reading an interesting article in irish angler digest recently about these fish it is mentioned that they can be cauhgt in the blackwater any tips ideas, these fish look great and seem to put up a scrap????
nothing really special about them, wilky,usually caught while fishing for mackerel all around ireland, roughly the same size as mackerel and fight the same too.

I think i ment SHAD not SCAD? Would this be more correct he said there caught at sea too but also in certain rivers and loughs, i think it was a thwait shad maybe?
ah shad, the best known spot for them is st mullins in county carlow, im afraid you've missed the window for them, there caught around may when they enter the rivers to migrate.
