Re: Otters
The Otters we have here are Eurasian Otters and live in fresh and salt water environments. The Sea Otter is an inhabitant of the West Coast of America and lives only in the sea. They are similar but the Eurasian Otter is broader across the face, shorter in the neck and has a longer tail. The Sea Otter spends most of it's time in the water, while the Eurasian Otter spends a lot of it's time on land.
There is also the Northern River Otter in North America, the Southern River Otter in South America, the Marine Otter in South America and a Neotropical Otter in Central America. And finally there is the Giant Otter of the Amazon basin. And there are other versions in other parts of the world.

Re: Otters
I seen one at a mark in Clew Bay last week. It swam around in front of me for about ten minutes. It was amazing to watch. Seeing an animal like an otter up close is one of the things I love about going fishing.
