problem casting into the wind

#1 Post by flynnboy »

Hi guys

I went shore fishing for the 1st time today and had a bit of a problem.

I was faced with a gale blowing straight at me from the sea. I soon discovered that my line and bait were being washed back in to the shore

Am I simply not using a heavy enough weight ?

Any hints/tips very gratefully received.

what kind of weight were you using???
condishions like that you would need to be using grip weights, maybe start off with a 3oz gripper, if you still get washed in move up an oz and so on untill you get a hold.
hope this helps....

Casy very low into the wind when it's like that and if ur gear is up to it use 6-7oz grip leads. If ur still being washed up move location or head home!
