Dublin 25th

People: Me

Duration: 3pm - 4pm

Tide: High

Weather: Windy and slightly overcast

Bait:Mepps spinner

Rigs:

Results:1 Bass! (My first! Woohoo :D ) 51cm

Report: Headed down to a well fished mackerel mark to try and get some dinner and bait. Was spinning with a large mepps using the pike rod and braid. No touches for the first while so walked round a bit. Was working the lure round the rocks and got a big take. Thought it was a large pollack but as it kept fighting and shaking its head I realised I had something a lot more special. Got it near the rocks and could see a big silver flash.......nerves went and adrenaline rush. He was fighting like mad. A little crowd gathered and he got trapped in the rocks. Having only the girlfriend there I was stuck, but luckily a bloke came and held the rod while I scaled the rocks and got a hold of him. What a buzz. Have better photo's on the gf's camera but got her to take a few with my phone too. Will post others later. Went home then cos I knew there was no topping that!

Well done on your first Bass Adam, I'd say you were delighted when you realised that it was a nice Bass and not a Pollock that you had hooked. :D

Thanks lads. Yeah eyes it was typical. The girlfriend was like David Bailey taking photos and the usual mackie bashers all coming round to look. With regards to thge fight, they really do shake their heads eh? I could see him for most of the fight and was just praying that the knot from the braid to the mono shockleader held. More pics below.

There was a few taken there last week, up to 8lbs I believe, fair play, may it be the first of many!
