I have used a 6500C, 7000 and 6500C3, but never got to use a magnetic drag multiplier yet. Come to think about it I managed quite fine with just one or two small size brake blocks in the centrifugal drag, but (with the 6500C and 7000) that was 10 years ago, and I'm re-tooling and getting back into beach fishing.
On checking out what is available in the latest stuff with magnets inside, I find myself looking at the ABU 6500CT Mag Hi Speed and the Daiwa 7HT Mag. However, the price difference between these two offerings is a big difference.
So what am I missing to account for the price difference?
Is the Daiwa 7HT mag better built than the ABU6500 CT mag hi speed, or is Daiwa's mag technology a better system?

Re: 7FT Mag vs 6500 CT Mag High Speed
The 7ht mag is miles ahead in all areas especialy the braking technology. Its well worth the extra money, have two of the little gems.
