ZZiplex TF 50 50 + Daiwa Emblem X 5500A

At the suggestion of various members and given the magazines will run a mile from criticising a piece of kit, here is your chance to tell us what you really think about a rod, reel, line, lure... keep it legal please!

ZZiplex TF 50 50 + Daiwa Emblem X 5500A

#1 Post by MikeQ »

The Zziplex was built by Julian Shambrook and is rung for a fixed spool. I bought the rod last week then had to go a week without giving it a go so I could buy the reel :D Finally got to fish with it today and all I can say is - Money well spent!. I couldnt believe the distance it added to my casts!!! Loaded with 15lb Stren and a 60lb Suffix shockleader I was putting 4 and 6 oz leads MILES!!!!! Gotta get a fingerstall!! My finger is still throbbing :D :D :D

Totally Agree Shane. All Zziplex Rods are built by Zziplex.... simple as that. It doesn't matter much who puts the eyes on. Sure you can personalise it a bit, but it isn't going to fish any better.

Im probably going to have to get one built for me, I want it rung for fixed spool and I doubt ill find a second hand one round the place. Been looking on all the usual auction sites for a while and havent seen any for fixed spool unfortunately!

I think he means all Zziplex blanks are made by Zziplex, I recently got a HSM from tom and it is built to perfection, top job.

i've had a few casts with the 50/50, just couldnt get on with it,found it too slow to recover, if i had to be honest i'd say its the worst zzippy ive tried,
species for 2009 (42)
species for 2010 (27)
species for 2011 (12)
species for 2012 (8)
best advice for catching species is girls dont like fishing and its hard to catch fish when you sell all your gear'

    Since its my first one and I havent tried any of the others i got nothing to base it on - anyhooo i think its smashing and I wont have a bad word said about it :) cant be giving the rod a complex this early on hahaha. So which one is the most recommended?? Im going to buy one rung for a Multiplier fairly shortly. I was looking at the HSM with a Daiwa Saltist 20h on it??
