Wexford Hounds 16 July 2009

#1 Post by Danny M. »

People: Tom, Pat, Baz and Myself

Duration: 2hrs 30 mins

Tide:rising

Weather:pleasent

Bait: Frozen Crab and 1 frozen squid!

Rigs:running ledgers for the boys (downtiding) & Pennel pulley for me (uptiding)

Results:16 Hounds, Common & Starry

Report:
Its just great to get out fishing !!!!!
:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Now ive got that out of my system back to business, haven’t been out in a while so we decided to have a short session out on Pats boat Wahoo for a few Hounds, and a dose of the flu wasnt going to stop me !!.
Steamed to the marked doing the odd drop to see if the macks were about but they didn’t show...
Down with the anchor and on with the fishing, first 2 casts uptide for me resulted in 2 Hounds which set the scene for the reminder of the session. With the lads hooking up with hounds directly under the boat in 12ft of water, the noise of the boat wasn’t putting them off.
Tom landed his first Hound so congrats to lad gave him a nice little scrap  .
We fished at a relaxed pace and definitely could have had a lot more fish over the gunnels if we weren’t taking the piss half the time !! :D Only fished for 2 1/2hours.

One of the Hounds I caught was followed right to the surface of the water by another Hound, it was an amazing sight, never seen it before...very cool.

I need to get out fishing more.
:P
