Killiney Beach 15-7-09

People: Me and my mate

Duration: From 15.30 till 16.15

Tide: Flooding , and just after high tide

Weather: Really sunny untill out of nowhere a thunder storm :evil:

Bait: Fresh rag and frozen peeler crab

Rigs: Pennel

Results: Me - Just one wrasse , Mate - Dogfish




Report: Decided to fish Killiney Beach yesterday as it was a nice day. First cast out with a crab tipped with a head hooked rag and picked up a nice size wrasse, while at the same time my mate hooked into a decent size dogfish . A double hook up first cast, was looking good for us 8) untill as soon as we put out the second cast the heavens opened :roll: lots of thunder and lottttsssss of rain in a matter of thirty seconds i was soaked to the skin so decided to pack it up but a blank saved :D Planning on headin out during the week might give the bass out there a go :)

Call that rain? Come to Mayo... :) Re Killiney, I lived many years in sunny Shankill, right at the Corbawn Lane steps to the beach. At low tide there, you can see the remains of the old railway station that got washed away in Victorian times. I was out of fishing at the time, but I always thought if there were any bass in the area, they'd be there. Anybody ever try it? I used to spot sea trout jumping there in summer. There's another large pile of low tide rubble further south, off a little point, which somebody told me used to be an old castle before erosion got it. Has that been tried?
