Greystones 10/07/09

#1 Post by RobertMcClean »

Vessel: Thresher

Crew: Myself and Kev(aka MAC)

Duration: 12pm -8pm

Tide: Dropping for the most part

Weather: Mixed, Rain and snotty enough at times

Bait: Macko/Rag

Rigs: Wire Traces

Results: Tope, Huss, Gurnards, Whiting , Codling, Macks, Launce
An impromptu session on Friday afternoon that started off pretty crap and finished very well. The day was forecasting 5-7 knots but as usual it was wrong, we had gusts up to 15knots and rain, topped off by some residual swells left there from the previous days weather. We had no problem getting our baits, full strings for the most part, usual spot 300 yards past the Moulditch buoy. We fished a few usual haunts and no sign of Tope. After enough dogs coming on board to fill a trawler hold we decided to fish a few marks in closer to chase something bigger. In no time we were into Tope and big Huss. Kev even managed to get a new double figure PB Huss. All in all a good session for a finish, persistence paid off!!
Nice to see Yappo in his new Quicklsilver, a fine looking vessel.

Cheers gf,

TBH, the change of Mark really made the day..... We were struggling a bit for a Tope this year, so it was nice to get a few.
