howth and surrounding area

#1 Post by Gary Morton »

Vessel:bass hunter

Crew:seirt/myself

Duration:8hrs

Tide:push-slack

Weather:great no rain :D

Bait:Mac,rag,squid

Rigs:mini,flowing,sabiki

Results:13 in all macs/whiting/haddock/dogs/tub gunard/codling/pollack/pouting/goldsinny/corkwing/rockling/shanny/ballans

opted to try for mixed day out with intentions of haddock and some mini,s which am delighted to say played ball for me today. Macs where hard to get as colour of the water wasn,t great and they where hard on the bottom, but we scraped a few and headed towards deep water for haddock.
1st drop down seirt got a rattle and smiled as up can a haddock at long last, my 1st drop got 2 so there about but the fecking dogs came on as they do in dub bay, so headed to a ray mark and here the whiting and dogs where thick  i did manage a tub gunard.
the rest of day was mini bashing over various reef and managed to get a few new 1,s for the bragging so a good we day and we only had the boat on the trailer and the fecking heavens opened nice timing :D

Cracking fishing Gary, all the better as it was from Howth.... Did you get everything on the drift or did you throw down the hook for a few?

Excellent resutls.
