On the Bank, Cobh 04-07-2009

#1 Post by gitboy »

People: Cuckoo's Nest SAC. (12) Boats: Johnboy, Lagosa II

Duration: 1000-17:00

Tide: HW 15:00

Weather: Very fresh South westernly wind

Bait: Fresh Mackeral, Frozen Squid

Rigs: Running Ledger and the secret weapon ' the shredder' (accounted for 6 blondes)

Results: 12 blonde ray, lots of dabs whiting and dogs

Report: Looking out at the weather after breakfast in the Commodore it was't looking good for a day on the drift outside the harbour, after a chat with the very knowlegable Donnie it was decide to fish at anchor on the turbot bank over low water then take a trip to white bay and chase some bull huss to then finish on the bank over high water. Now we normally we fish our competitions on the drift but as we only had six on each boat and the white horses were very visibe beyond Roche's Point we decided to take his advise and boy are we glad we did as you will see from the pics below, will have to get out on the bank in the very near future.
