orlock co. down 26/6/09

#1 Post by carp angler »

People: myself

Duration: 3 hours

Tide: rising to high

Weather: nice, warm, sunny

Bait: trusted mack trace

Rigs: trusted mack trace

Results: 5 mackerel

Report: went to orlock again, set up on the rocks and a fella beside me set up same time, he got one within ten minutes, shortly after, rat a tat tat and i have a full house on my 3 hook trusted mack trace, soon folloew by 2 mackerel on the same trace, and then another two tho one fell off and swam away to be caught another time, . . .other folk arrived and they got nothing while i was there. . .the rocks across the bay were filled with people also

i just wish they would take more care and take rubbish home with them

if you catch a mack and handle it, does it really burn them when returned to the water? i felt that 4 out of the 5 i landed were too small so i returned them to the sea. is it recommended to kill what you catch? any thoughts on this are welcom

well done on the mackerel,if you want to put them back flatten the barb on the hook and it easy to flick them back without handling them
