wexford this morning

Vessel:off da hook

Crew:myself

Duration:3 hours 5am this morning till 8ish

Tide:

Weather:great

Bait:silver tobys small tobys mepps

Rigs:

Results:well got a tip off sea trout running in eastury in wexford so i headed to ferrycarrig this morning to a spot of mine were sea trout holding up 5 other lads fishing but no boats launched at the main road bad slip there full of stones bad need of repair . started to spin for seatrout had 2 in half an hour caught4 more. seen a fish making a bit of a splash so uped the toby 20 odd casts later hooked a fish took 8 or ten mins to land a nice fish of 12lbs one or 2 roars from the lads something like jammy baxterd fished for a hour more but sun was up so short happy trip the salmon was returned after pic

excelent fishing id say you'l be buzzing all day after that fight i do love sea trout there my favourite fish to catch well done

how do you tell if its sea trout or salmon, cos it looks jus like a salmon:?

easiest way is to check the tail. sea trout is square, salmon is forked, heres a good link http://www.atlanticsalmontrust.org/salm ... ition.html

I found this chart a while back and thought it illustrated the different identifying characteristics pretty well. As you can see the tail is the easiest way to tell but there are also a couple of other thing you can look out for.
