dungarvan 22/6/09

#1 Post by seanie35 »

People:me

Duration:9 till 11ish

Tide:low at 11.50

Weather:mild and muggy

Bait:plugs

Rigs:

Results:1 bass

Report:took the chance on wading out to the oyster beds fairly early with the tide still up on them but dropping. there wasnt a single ripple on the water and was like a different place altogether as opposed to the night before seemed dead as a dodo. still hooked into a decent fish about 10 pm great fight thought id foulhooked a mullet tbh. weighted in at 3kilos even and 68cm fish was in good condition. i thought the fish were going to start hitting the lures but it wasnt to be. few others fishing dont know how they got on in the end i think arthur lost a good fish. 8)

Lovely bass Seanie :D :D , that was me on your far left.
I had one of about 2lbs and a knock off another. Got fed up and finished around 10.45pm as the weed was getting worse and my waders were full of water

Well done on that nice bass Seanie. It was good to eventually meet you.
I didn't catch anything - I had a few follows on a Maria Chase and after dark switched to a surface popper. I had a fish on that for a few seconds but he shook it off.

You must have been cold alright - I discovered I have a leak high on the right leg of my fairly new waders  That was cold enough.

it was a strike pro pat and swims fairly shallow about 6 inches below the surface. went again at lunchtime and got 2 x 4lb plus lots of activity :D 8) , one of the fish took the treble way down so had to dispatch it

Nice fishing Seanie..

Bowmans had good waders last week for €65. Now I have 4 pairs of waders..... 3 of them leaking!!

I reckon if you fish a lot waders have quite a short lifetime.
