Hi
I've been given Easter Sunday off to practice my religion (sounds like a song title) and myself and pete from the forum are planning a day's fishing (day as in full day, none of these wimpy three hour sessions....)
There is an excellent weather forecast (light winds, clear, no rain - hey, that's as good as it gets here, we're not living in Valentia :D ) and a big tide of around 12-16 foot predicted with h/t coming around 6 pm.
Have corroborated report of first shore landed mackerel from Achill last weekend (guy spinning for pollack on Atlantic Drive mark at h/t, thought he'd hooked a sea trout!), so the fishing should be getting better. Not seen much sandeel about mind which is a bit odd, be expecting them around now.
Anyone who wants to tag along, drop me a line by pm or post here, and we will arrange a meet. Probably a mix of rock and beach marks with Belmullet the initial target (new marks) and Achill as the fall back option...
Bring your own bait kinda day!

Time spent fishing is never time wasted...
2015 targets - a triggerfish, a specimen bass, a three bearded rockling to complete the set and something big and toothy from certain north Mayo deep water marks
