Somewhere in Connemara, Galway 21-6-09

#1 Post by Bradan »

People:Me, myself and I

Duration: 1600-2000

Tide: HT~1730

Weather: Bright sunshine followed by sea mist, breezy and humid

Bait: Sandeel and mack

Rigs: 2 hook loop

Results: 9 ray to about 6lbs

Report: Second time fishing this mark, seems to fish best over high water. Was getting a fish a cast for a couple of hours, it slowed down for a while, got a nice 6lbs fish then, and another one just before I finished up. Sea mist came in and it got chilly with a strong breeze. Left camera and measure at home so only guesstimated weights, most fish were on the small side 2-4lbs. Dropped a bigger fish on the retrieve. Super fishing though, and not a soul about, not even a mackie basher :D
Its called fishing, not catching. If it was called catching it wouldn't be fishing!

Conor, after experiencing your "late braking" driving technique last week, I think the Stig title is more appropriately yours! If I hadn't been wearing my seatbelt I would have hit the windscreen!

No pics today, forgot the camera.

No, sound out, met him before I started and checked it was ok, he called over later on to see if I was getting anything and told me about the pollack then...

Excellent stuff Kevin. Hard to beat a session like that! :D

If it helps to calm the nerves next time, I'll do the driving.
(And I'm not just saying that to find out where the mark is, honestly!!
