Very pleasant days fishing, the best fish was a 9lb thorny caught by salydog. Also present were
a few shoals of colourful tubs. For most of the day I decided to gamble all on a tope and baited
a wire trace with whole dab which excluded dogs and rays etc, but never got a run in the end.
I would highly recommend this charter and skipper who was very helpful providing mugs of tea / coffee,
and also a supply of leads.

great skipper, and pleasent days fishing. mick and john really looked after us, some good oul tea, did their best to find the fish when it went quite, feathered a constant stream of fresh bait and stayed out a bit longer than planned. really recomend the boat for a days hire!!

best advice for catching species is girls dont like fishing and its hard to catch fish when you sell all your gear'

Hi All,

Great to meet you all, and thanks J.D. for giving me the nod. Mick and John worked hard to put us on fish and the teas and coffees were much appreciated. Thanks also for the steady stream of Mackerel for bait.

No Tope, but a full range of Gurnards, Thornies, a spotted Ray, and Smooth Hounds.

Crab and Squid proved very effective, and outside of the slack period uptiding might be the way to go given the shallow ground off Courtown.

Hi Mick,

The boat is a mitchell 31 with a licence for for up to 9. There were 6 of us which i'd say
would be the ideal number for tangle free fishing. The boat is not very fast due to the
semi displacement hull but provides a stable platform if a bit of an irish sea chop kicks up
and there are several well known marks close to courtown. As far as i know its 400 for the day

Nice ray Conor! Sounds like a good day out lads...
Its called fishing, not catching. If it was called catching it wouldn't be fishing!
