Time: 8pm

Duration:3 1/2 hrs

Tide:High tide

Weather:Windy, drizzle.

Bait:mackeral

Rigs:2 Hook Flappers

Results:Me-6 pollack, Karl- 7 pollack


Report: 13 pollack in 3 and a half hrs with biggest being about 23-25 cm. Still no macks :?

that amount of pollock sounds ok to me ,macks seem scarce all over at the moment,costing me to buy em for bait very sad state of affairs :x

Nice amount of fish.

Were you fishing the front or back of the pier?
2011 species (2) - Three Bearded Rockling, Coalfish

2010 species (8) - Coalfish, Codling, Shore Rockling, Pollack, Lesser Spotted Dogfish, Poor Cod, Whiting, Pouting

2009 species (10) - Lesser Spotted Dogfish, Pouting, Coalfish, Long Spined Sea Scorpion, Shore Rockling, Codling, Haddock, Shanny, Whiting, Flounder

We happy enough with the amount but the size wasnt that great. We fished the jetty but a couple of guys where out the back but didnt catch a thing.

Pity about no macks though its getting ridiculious having to buy bait lol

i think there are more pollack then mackerel around at the moment,well done on getting a few

Not a bad session. You must have been a day early as the macks were being landed thick and fast off the back last night by all accounts.
i get by with a little help from my friends.

decent amount of wee pollack there lads, not bad, seems to be a few showing again around north down

nice busy wee session there gary :P seen loads of guys spinning and feathering for mack there over the last 2 weeks, but not a one landed :? :? :? :? :? what there is that's about seems to be a bit thin on the ground. spose it's just down to luck if you and the macks are at the same spot at the same time i guess :roll: :roll: :roll:

Totally agree :)

I'm more a species fisherman but it would nice to catch 2 or 3 macks a week to save me some money :D
