Conger fishing

#1 Post by fish4fun »

Hi there

coming back to Kerry later in the year. In the past I've used 100lb nylon covered wire for conger but was going to use heavy mono. Will 100lb be ok or should I go heavier. Hoping to target some tope as well. Any advice appreciated.

100lb mono should be fine for congers but if you go to 200lb mono it'll do for congers and the tope too.... or you could go with 80/90lb mono coated in wire as a nice comprimise...
