Guys I just bought my first tripod there off ebay, and thought I'd recommend it for some of you. Just so you know I am in no way connected with the seller - I just thought I'd spread the word.
It's an all aluminium design, folds neatly, and is made in England. No cheap "Made in China" stuff. Very simple design with alu double rod holder. I got the 1.5m version though I think he does others, cost was £23 delivered and it arrived within 3 days. The build quality seems good, it just uses angle-alu and tubular rods for legs and a couple of angle-alu bars for the rod holders. No real parts that look like they could give much trouble. This is my first tripod so I am no expert but it seems terrific value for money.

Anyone else tried one?

Re: eBay Tripod - great success!
I got mine for double of that price at Rorys but it has what I was looking for in a tripod. The adjustable length of each leg. It brings in extra flexibility when you go out casting on different surfaces and adjust the angle of you rod depending on the wind conditions. Nonetheless, what you bought will work on beach and flat grounds.
. I maybe wrong, I am basing this comment on what I saw on the pic and its description.
Others might have a different opinion.
Thanks for the tip.

Re: eBay Tripod - great success!
The only parts that I can foresee being a problem are the 3-4 steel screws and nuts holding the various parts together, which could all be replaced within 5 minutes once they are in need of it. The rest of the entire rest is made from aluminium so unless it gets mistreated I don't think it is really breakable too easily. Granted it isn't extendable but even so it seems cheap than other fixed tripods of similar size. I'm only really a hobby sea angler anyway so it suits me down to a tee
(I'm more regularly fly fishing or boat fishing)
