A lot will depend on who you’re going out with and where he intends to take you. Plenty of good size pollack on the reefs so a 12lb class rod will be ideal for gilling with king rag or jelly worms. The whiting and grey gurnard are showing up on the flat ground with mackerel bait best on a flowing rig and size 1 hooks. If you end up on the anchor its conger on the bottom with pouting, small ling and wrasse. Pollack should also be around.

Might be me Dave, I'm out of X-haven on Saturday with possibly 3 other boats not sure what other boats are going, think the Chieftain is one & possibly Gerry K's 2 boats are going also with some club from the East Coast.
On top of Donal's advise on tackle a couple of boxes of rag would be handy to bring fresh macks should be available
