Hello All,
Have had a look at Green Park in Youghal and plan to give it a shot when I have a chance to get down there next (April/May I'd imagine). Just wondering if anybody has fished there and if so how they got on? Any responses much appreciated.
Thanks,
S

youghal green park
hi blackwater,
green park is predominantly a winter venue with cod (averaging about 2lbs but sometimes up to 6lbs), coalfish and whiting, being the mainstay from end of september to start of feburary. from mid march the flounder start to reappear and can be caught right up till around january. dogfish can be plentyful at night during the summer months and every year it throws up a few bass to pretty reasonable size. when the mackerel appear in youghal green park is best avoided as the crowds gather making fishing both uncomfortable and very unsafe. weed can be a problem at green park especially during spells of good sun shine and on the larger tides. as for bait fresh peeler crab outfishes anything for any of the above species but lug and mackerel will also bring success.
