i took the dog a walk today along by the lagoon and spotted a huge shoal of mullet, so i run as quickly as i could to the house and grabbed my mullet gear, i also took a light spinning rod and stuck a flapper rig on, managed a shanny first cast, but nothing after, had mullet on the surface all around me, occasionally eating surface bread.
spent hour trying for them but hooked loads but all got off.

I think I'll try the lagoon tomorrow.
I can get out for a few hours in the morning, unfortunately the tides aren't great, I guess the tides don't really effect the lagoon?

believe it or not tides seem to effect it just as much as outside it, most fish seem to be feeding during the first half of the flood.
i'll be down tomorrow at about 4 or 5 o'clock in the morn to try for them when it is quieter.
