mackerl shoal

Can anyone tell me what a mackerl shoal looks like on the fish finder? :lol:

Much debate on this one. The general consensus is that Mackerel don't show up on a FF as they don't have a swim bladder. It is the pocket of air in the swim bladder that the FF reflects. I have been getting full strings before and have marked nothing. If there are other fish about the Mackerel you will mark them.

Yes I seem to have the same conditions as Kev, but then again sometimes I'd often see what looks like dirt or weed on the fishfinder half way up and I'd hook into mackeral, this I put down to a shoal of bait/fry the Macks are chasing. Not sure if I'm correct on this assumption but hell sometimes it works for me.
