#1 Post by screeming reels »

Vessel:screeming reels

Crew:nevskibb, myself

Duration:9 hours

Tide:ebb, to flood

Weather:nice, 2-4 west wind odd hail shower

Bait:mackerel, crab, squid

Rigs:spreader bar, flowing trace

Results:17 starry and common smoothies to 5lbs, 9 thornback rays to 9lbs, 1 huss, 65 LSD's, grey gurnard, dabs, pin whiting

Hi Lads,
Well what a trip it turned out to be for Gary (Bass Hunter), I will let him explain what happened , suffice to say he had a BAD day, before he got onto the water !!! No amount of preparation could have predicted what was going to happen.!
Well, left the slip at 9 and had fish onboard by 9.15 even though it was LSD’s, the first mark proved to be full of LSD’s and a ray and not much else, so off to the next, here we had better fishing with a good few smoothies turning up,with Nev getting his first Smoothy, a nice starry, our only Huss for the day and plenty more dogs, Gary managed to connect into a nice tope which he boated and came over for a picture.
As the tide turned we headed for another mark, and here we hit the thornbacks, some nice fish coming onboard, then we got a run of smoothies and then back to the good old LSD’s. We also had a couple of nice sized grey gurnards, and a good smattering of Dabs and pin whiting.
A great days fishing, nev getting his first Smoothy, ( don’t know what you east coast lads complain about !!!) :D :D :D
Regards
screeming
