Fishing in Lincoln Nebraska

Hi Folks,
Not sure where to post this , so here is as good as any. I'm off to Lincoln , Nebraska on Monday for 10 weeks with work. Was supposed to be Chicago but got cancelled. Anyway, Since there's nowt much to do there I'm hoping to get doing a bit of fishing. There's no coastline, so sea fishing is out, but if anyone has any advice or bits of info (species, methods , tackle etc), I'd be greatful. Thanks.

Your posting in Nebraska is getting a good response - I suppose you'll just have to go, but please can you let us know what your USA contact means by "good bass, crappie, cat". Bass I've seen, the cat must be some sort of American dogfish but how did they hear about my casting style? :?
