krusty on the wexford coast
People: the dodger and krusty the clown
Duration:8-1am
Tide:i think it was rising,
Weather: calm, small swell, quite nice
Bait:rag,lug,crab,sandeel and mack
Rigs: three hook flapper
Results:bass, flounders, dabs, starry smoothound, whiting
Report: decided to hit i beach i throughly hate with a passion, due to the fact its always fished crap for me. i've fished two comps here and i had to show for my previous 10 hours work was a 19cm rockling and a hand full of pin whiting. still rodger expected good things, i was more reserved and generally pesimistic as i am always. first cast saw me into a flounder and to my astonishment i added another 9 of them within the next hour, biggest about 30cm, all of them counters though. rodger had managed a pup on his first and to be truthfull i was extremely jealous, i spent the whole night fishing rag and crab baits in the gulley trying for one. i added a trio of dabs and a few whiting to my score but the elusive hound was still hiding. finally got a doggy like bite, and reeled in only to discover a 48cm bass, honestly thought it was a dog, or better still a small hound!!!! soon afterwards i brought in another bass, this time it was only small. and finally on my last cast it recieved a stonker of a bite, stripping line i thought i had hit a a proper fish, at this point i realised i had loosened the drag off when i went to chat to the lads next to us, drag tightened i had little trouble bringing in another bass slightly bigger than the first one, probably about 50cm, didnt measure him, litle b****** managed to draw blood while i was realeasing him in the surf, dam spines. rodger landed a fish of 40 cm on his second last cast after missing about 3 slack liners all night, little hooks outfished big hooks. its also worth noting no lidle or budget crappy rods were used in the making of this report, only upity rods!
