Report:

Meant to go to Ennereilly on Saturday, but like a fool I listened to the forecast and decided sunday would to be the better option. Saturday comes - cracking day plenty of sunshine, too late - had made plans I couldn't get out of
Sunday - pissing rain at the end of the session.

Anyway arrived down there with the young fella, Neil , and got setup around 18:30. We were baited up to the gills(!) & confidence was high. There was a few guys there but hadn't caught anything, bar maybe a few whiting - they left after another hour.
Started fishing and all was quiet for the first while. Later the whiting arrived & Neil had fun bringing in many of them. I persisted with my size 2/0 's and tried every bait I had but no joy. Nightfall came and i was convinced this may throw up a Bass but alas no! It started to rain, but braved it until 22:30 and eventually decided to head to the warmth of home.

Highlight of the night was me doing my Linford Christie impersonation, chasing an empty bag, that had blown away, down the beach in my chestwaders. Neil thought this was the funniest thing he ever saw ! Have to say I impressed myself with the speed I reached in those waders. Ended up with two whiting myself-the last one was bigger than average and managed to impale himself on my hook. It was annoying as every time I casted out I just knew the whitings were violating my worms. anyway to avoid these pests? when do they head back out to deeper sea? Also I always use running ledgers and single paternosters, yet i see most you guys always use 3 hook flappers. Does this really increase chances or would it just lend to attract more whiting for now?

As usual this session just makes more determined than ever to get one of those bars of silver ! roll on next one....

later
