Another Nice Lidl Bassing Sesh on East Coast

#1 Post by uvox »

Who: Me, Diego
Tide: Turned, on the way out
Weather: Wet as be damned
Bait: Lug, rag
Result: 4 Bass (40-55 cm), 2 X flounder, 1 X plaice, 1 X dab
Gear: Lidl Surf Kit, other inexpensive rods, stuff we probably bought on the Internet, whatever

Diego's superior casting technique to mine mean he quickly went three up on three nice bass and I was getting worried as all I had was one dismal flounder to show for it.

However, a quick prayer to Saint Jude, and my prayers were answered with a BAM BAM BAM on the old Lidl surf kit rod. Nice 55 cm bass. Great fight, and the rod performed beautifully and I played him onto the shore.

We got some smaller flats as well, which was nice to bring the old species total for the day up to 4.

Great evening. The lads done well. Our conservation duties respected, we went home.

Sorry for the sh1te picture. I'm waiting to get a decent camera in Lidl.

Cheers. Nice to get a decent fish now and again. Hope to get out a few more times before the old closed season kicks in, and then onto the smoothounds..

Very effective rod for that money. I don't even bother bringing mine home any more. I just bury it in a culvert by the N11 near Lil Doyle's pub until the next lad needs it!

@danieldaylewis no you cant have the gps coord just cos you've the freedom of wicklow now. buy yer own.
