Got word of it when I came ashore this evening after been out in my own boat. As sad way to end a days angling but in the end I wore a life jacket all day.

This will not be any solus to the families involved but we must all learn that the sea takes no prisoners.
A life jacket may stop another family from the same grief

Condolences to the families Fechin Mulkerrin and Tony Coohill on their sad loss, May they Rest in Peace

i agree a life jacket or floatation suit is a must on any boat and also when shore fishing also a marine hand held radio
most of the fishing i do is shore fishing and i bought a floatation suit and hand held radio just for this
the 2 cost only 150 euro
150 euro is not a lot if it saves a life

Like all of the others who have commented on this tragic deaths, I am very saddened and offer my sincere condolences. My heart goes out to their friends and family. This tragedy makes one once again aware that human lives are fragile things and there is not enough prayers in the world to comfort these poor people.
This should never have happened, I appeal to all of you here, please, take proper care and precautions when out braving the elements, don't take any risks, think on your loved ones first, which you leave behind with broken hearts!

I too would like to express my condolences to the families and friends of Feichin and Tony. May you find the strength to get through this tragedy. I am a regular visitor to Claddaghduff and have friends there. My thoughts and prayers are with you. R.I.P.

Something that anglers and fishermen should think about when going to sea is a life jacket in April may do little more than help in the recovery of the bodies and thankfully I see both bodies were recovered in this case. It is hypothermia and shock that will kill you.

Condolences to both families on their tragic loss!
