#1 Post by craigo »

People:Myself & Darren

Duration:6pm til 2.30am

Tide:LW around 6

Weather:Sunny & Mild

Bait:Lug, Crab , Bluey

Rigs:Loop , 2/0Flapper 3/0 Pennel

Results:2 bass 1 Turbot

Report:First cast = bass 3lb . Second cast = bass 4lb , nothing for the rest of the night for night for me.
Darren was fishing a 3/0pennell didnt have a bite all night but reeled in a small Turbot that swallowed both hooks totally
I managed to free the hooks to release it .

If I'm not gonna catch a fish , I may aswell not catch a BIG fish !

Thanks Seanie , I fish for pleasure , not competition if other anglers want to ''measure dicks'' then leave them to it , we know Waterford is the Bass Capital of Ireland ! As for the Turbot a complete surprise for both of us , especially after swallowing both 3/0's of the pennell . We passed another angler that had an even smaller Turbot that night so maybe there are a few around. :D

Thanks Lads . I normally dont use the bluey ifI was using a fish bait Mackeral would be my weapon of choice , it was just a last min raid on the freezer produced razor and bluey so it had to be used . But it a very oily fish and I would imagine bass wouldn't refuse it .
