cushendun beach 14th april.

venue_cushendun people_me and the better half. Duration_12noon to 18.00pm bait_rag,squid,mack,lug,bluey,smelts,sandeel. Result_ 1plaice,1whittn report- not much to say really got to the mark just comin up on noon got set up straight away and lines in the water for just after noon.it was slow to say the least had a few bites here and there but came to nothing.so i decided to get the barbacue light and have some burgers and hotdogs. As it got later in the day the bites started to appear more and i noticed slack line on one rod so reeled in and was welcomed with a nice size plaice(blank saved.) so got the rod baited up and chucked back out as i did with the second one.i tried all kinds of bait cocktails but nothing seemed to be workin. So i decided to pack up and wake up the better half after lyin sleepin all afternoon on the beach lol. So with one rod in and packed up i brought the other rod in which had a nice whittn on it. Not the best trip but it was nice to get out and spend a few hours with the misses. Lol

Nice one Bryan,,,,, nice to get a plaice., and nice to spend quality time with your loved one, even if she spent all afternoon asleep on the beach :lol: :lol:

well done on the plaice lad :D , and fair play getting the missus out with you, would'nt get mine onto a beach unless someone was renting out sunbeds for 3 euro a day. :oops:
had heard the beach was throwing up plaice, :D
some times catching crabs is a good thing.........or is it...........?

a couple of mates fished it last week and said they had a few plaice,so i had to get some action for myself.i was meant to fish with alan jordon on sunday but didnt get as the misses smashed her car up so i want her close by so i could keep an eye on her just to be safe.

Sorry to hear about the misses Brian I hope all is well. Now how the hell did you get her to tag along fishing with you? Thats harder then beating a blank :shock:

Well done Bryan

I have put a few hours in on this mark over the past 2 weeks or so and it is not fishing anywhere near its potential, it normally picks up around June.
