Cushendun Beach

#1 Post by JULIO RAGWORM »

People- me, kenny, wayne
Weather- sunny but really cold
Tide- Flood/ebb
Duration- 5 hrs
Rigs- 3 hook flappers, 2 hook clipped down and pulley rigs
Bait- Rag
Result- me- 28 cm Turbot ( first one!!) other 2 blankers lol

Had a good rattle on my second cast just on the turn and was half expecting a flounder to be landed and right up until the last few feet thats what I thought I was seeing, only to hear from behind me a voice say its a turbot you jammy git, and right enough there it was a Turbot. I didnt have my digital camera with me so the picture is currently on 2 mobile phones and once I workout how to transfer the pics i will post them.

Anyhow not much happened after that and for the next few hours 3 of us where huddled together inside a beach buddy as the mist rolled in and the temperature plummited. There was one guy just setting up as we where leaving so we gave him bait and headed home.

Cheers
Julio
Y'all know me. Know how I earn a livin'. I'll catch this bird for you, but it ain't gonna be easy. Bad fish. Not like going down the pond chasin' bluegills and tommycods. This shark, swallow you whole. Little shakin', little tenderizin', an' down you go. And we gotta do it quick, that'll bring back your tourists, put all your businesses on a payin' basis. But it's not gonna be pleasant. I value my neck a lot more than three thousand bucks, chief. I'll find him for three, but I'll catch him, and kill him, for ten. But you've gotta make up your minds. If you want to stay alive, then ante up. If you want to play it cheap, be on welfare the whole winter. I don't want no volunteers, I don't want no mates, there's just too many captains on this island. Ten thousand dollars for me by myself. For that you get the head, the tail, the whole damn thing.

2010- Sea Trout, Codling, Pollock, Coalie, Whiting, Flounder, Doggies, Plaice, Dab.

cheers lads for the feedback, im heading up to cushendun beach for a night session on monday, hopefully some more fish will be showing. And your right the place isnt fishing like it used to, my mate kenny had 9 species of that beach in one night session he actually had to stop fishing because his siatica was playing up lol. Anyhow I will make sure the camera is in the box before I go although im probably tempting fate by bringing it. I will keep you posted.
