Midnight Run To Wicklow

#1 Post by fuller »

Myself, Dfella and Boycie:

12am until 3am:

High about 12 and on the drop:

Rain, wind and rain:

Boycie Bait:

Bertie Bassett i.e. All Sorts:

Myself one whiting, Boycie one dab and Dfella 1 schoolie, 2 dogs and a handful of whiting.:

I was in bed with the telly on and the feet up when I got a text from dfella about 10:30 asking did I want to go fishing. I thought he was taking the piss but sure enough he was outside the house about 20 minutes later with the van (smaller than mine  ). I hoped in and we were off. He told he was picking up another poor sod he had roped in along the way. A while later we collected Boycie and we headed off. We decided on a spot to suit all our wants. Boycie was chasing a ?????? and dfella and myself wanted a dog fish.

We got to Wicklow and set up. The rain was bucketing down now but we got some cover from the wall behind us. Dfella was straight into the whiting bashing with a small rod in close and even picked up a schoolie! With his other rod after an hour or so he picked up a dog on razor! Boycie tied me up a new rig to try for my dog and sorted me with some sand eels. While I was waiting dfella picked up another doggie but by 3 we could take no more and we packed.

My blanked was saved with a whiting but I never got my dog fish. We are going to try again on Friday. It was great to meet Boycie and far play to him for the help and advice. Jesus that lad can talk "fishing". He never got the ???????? but he is heading to ?????? with ?????? and some ???????? so reckons he'll pick it up there.
