handle rough ground no problem very stiff powerful rod for the heavier leads 175 and 200 grm.to be honest its not a rod for an inexperienced caster and even some of the more experienced casters would have trouble handling it.if its just for rough ground fishing then no problem but for casting think i would look at a less powerful rod.john

Dont know about the conoflex but i recently got a century carbon metal crest for the rough stuff . Its impressed me no end handling any rough ground ive fished and casts very well too.I would not hesitate to recommend it.Dont know what price the conoflex is but you would pick up the crest for around £200.

I was over at Conoflex last week and was sent out into the carpark with the 150g version of the new Scorpion to give it a waggle. Its a lovely well balanced rod with plenty of power and if I had the cash I would have had it back home with me. :D

If possible try and get your hands on one so you can see how it feels to you before you handing over the cash.
