welcome to the wonderful world of sea fishing mate the best thing to do is orderbait from the lads in courtown angling centre the lads there will see you right with marks and tactics joes no.0876613145 or micks no.0861017466 hope this helps a bit best of luck with it
Hi Darren , i'm from down kilmore way, the forlorn point is very rocky and not ideal for ground fishing, you can spin off it at high tide alright from the burrow side, can be a tricky and dangerous venue and not ideal starting off. You could maybe try the back of the pier in kilmore quay should throw up a few fish or even the burrow west of the quay this fishes better at low water. Plenty of good spots around pm if ya like or ask the locals when you get down.
thank lads for the help!any suggestions for what bait to use?!i was checking out the pier at kilmore beside the ice plant looks good?do ya know what typre of ground its over and how far to fish out into the channel.species i shud expect??
Hi Darren, Lug and Rag will work for almost all species down Kilmore Quay way, if you go down to the burrow you would expect to come into some Bass and flounder and like the lads said maybe a few Coalies off the pier. Good luck with the Sea Angling!
