river floats - any use

ive come into 250 approx river floats - the question is - should i be sensible and not use them at all

or

is there some knack that they could be used to float in the sea - in very calm conditions - probably for mullet - but for anything else - thing is i dont mind if i lose them!

these things are all contained in holders in large boxes - a lot of them hand-painted

all about 20cm in length with a bubble area close to one end (2/3cm in diameter) - mostly black(some brown/green) with 2-3 stripes of yellow or bright colours

I use them for mullet and have used them for mini's when it was very calm but i was using course fishing gear too

Probably best used inside harbours and piers etc.

i got my mullet last year all on river floats, there work for wrasse, codling, pollack, whiting, coalies, sea scorpians, and gobbies too, infact i even saw a doggie taken on one a few years back in portaferry.

i find them great for pier fishing with a bait box for a weight

small flatfish when you hit a batch of them they can be good caic, millisle lagoon is good for that.

looks like they will be alright from the pier in calm water - dont know if id get a cast out of them for gars
