Heading to Donegal tomorrow - any suggestions?
I know it's getting late, but any suggestions for a visit to Donegal tomorrow? Usually I head towards Teelin Bay, preferably off the rocks on one side or the other. Is anywhere between Donegal town and Glencolumkille fishing well? Or anywhere in S. Co. Donegal for that matter.

You could try St. Johns point. Not sure how it's fishing though.

Thanks for the reply. I might try there, but I'd like to try something new - maybe Muckross (it looks as though there should be billions of pollack and wrasse around there) or Roshin at the mouth of Killybegs (tried it before and it wasn't great, but I have good bait this time).
I'll post an update when I get back tonight.

I'll be in Donegal Town over the Easter weekend. Of course I'll bring my spinning gear. Any rocky marks around the town worth a 'spin' or wetting a plug? PM if you prefer.

Hey just seeing the post now and well im not far from St johns point, live in Donegal Town possibly a 35mins drive away. Never really fished much myself but have always been mad keen on it, so hopefully i'll get round to it now, thinkin bout goin there tomorrow but dont really have a clue regarding bait and techniques..
Found this statement on the website..
St John's Point: Truly awful roads but the best mark in Donegal and possibly the best road-accessible shore fishing mark in Ireland. Be careful of parking too close to the fields as the cattle like to scratch themselves on the car door mirrors with disastrous consequences! The lighthouse, as with all lighthouses in Ireland, is private. They are often a family home so please respect this - how would you like it if someone invaded your garden! Species & Techniques: Spinning takes Mackerel and Garfish in season, with a plentiful supply of Coalfish and Pollack in reserve. Float fishing worm baits will keep you in Wrasse all day, some of them to ove rthe specimen weight c. 5 lbs (2.2 kgs). Bottom fishing will take Wrasse and also Conger, Bull Huss and Dogfish. Clearly there are sandy patches which account for the Gurnard and Dabs. The Whiting were a nice odd bonus and I have no doubt Codling and Cod will be present in the autumn / winter. Bring loads of bait!

So seems a pretty good spot. Please let us know how ya got/get on? What you used etc..
Thanks

Thanks for that! I totally forgot about it. At least I have a few pointers now.
