Cod to the nets men

Heard that the boats netting cod were getting plenty about 20 miles out has any one heard any thing going take my own boat out if this right

thats right man,i know of one boat dumped 140 boxes of cod from one tow last week off the south coast.

Hear that to buit why aren t they coming in shore is the weather or the amount of freshwater going in to the sea or poultion

no crab left in the estuaries!! no food no cod, simple
species for 2009 (42)
species for 2010 (27)
species for 2011 (12)
species for 2012 (8)

well mate, youghal in particular is being hit by commercials potting crab for the continent, go down to the quay next time your there and check out some of the fish boxes :wink: full of shore crabs :?

what a waste,dumping cod .i remember seeing boxes of ray dumped when i was a kid ,it was in galway.i dont like the idea of fishing for shorecrab it leaves a big hole in the foodchain,i would say their used for soup or stock. :roll:

your talking down there particularly - i was on about in general - ill bare that in mind next time im down there eric
