dublin mark or was it bray head mmmmmmmmmmmmm!???

#1 Post by eric »

People:myself and a mate

Duration:2-5

Tide: on the ebb

Weather:coldish and one fatal sqaull

Bait:lug and mack

Rigs: clipledowns with hooks!

Results: 7 codling to 35cm, 12 whiting, and a dab

Report:
bit of bait left over from yesterdays antics, so i gave a call to a mate of mine from college to see if he wanted to wet a line. indeed he did, his words where' theirs no skill in fishing'. so we had a comp for a fiver most fish wins. gave him one of my rods and reels, first cast the multy combusted into shards of f1 everywhere. so already he realised casting a multy was not as easy as its seems, handed him a fixed spool and all was ok! soon enough i was hitting a few fish, mostly mini codling, but broke the deadlock with a nicely formed fish of 28cm. hugh was still blanking and getting snagged all the time. i added another codling of 33cm to my growing tally and a dab and a whiting, and another..... sure enough a shower came down, containing hail stones, lovely, i was happy enough in my waders and smock, poor oul hugh was only wearing a hoody and jeans, ended up freezing to death. anyway last cast i blanked and he brought a lovely codling of 35cm in, wtf came to mind. he still thinks he won. he did give us anglers some credit in the end, and admitied us anglers are hardy souls for enduring such weather, i thought it was balmy  all the codling we put back i swear, honeslty they where, im beginning to get guilty about fishing,
