Results: Conger, Dogs, Three Bearded Rockling, Whitting
Report: After a quick break from the afternoon session and watching Ireland keep on course from the Grand Slam We headed of to a rock mark to try and get shamoo0804 his frist conger and a decent West Coast Ray. We were into fish straight away with each of us getting whitting and 3 bearded rockling for myself. Then corbyeire was first in with the dogs which started coming regularly. Shamoo0804 had a animal rig out for conger and got a couple of runs with the conger dropping the bait more than once. However his persistence paid off and he was rewarded with his first ever conger corbyeire headed off around 00:30 and myself and shamoo0804 stayed on pulling out all the stops to try and land a Ray but it wasn't to be all in all a decent session with plenty of good sized dogs shamoo had a dog we should've weighed but i only thought of after he put it back i'd say it was definatley specimen weight shamoo0804 has some pics to add....

Enjoyed the weekend thanks Conor, shame about the ray, but you cant have it all your own way.
Think I may have dropped a ray on my last cast though, didnt see a bite at all and was retrieving the rig to pack up, then got a good bit of pull as I was reeling in. Couldnt see the fish on the way in, just as I got it down by the waters edge it spat the hook, all I saw then was a flash of white as it dissapeared, I think it was a ray as all the dogs I caught could be seen from 20/30 yards out on the retrieve.
I dunno, maybe the tiredness, guinness and darkness was playing tricks on me, I guess I'll never know.
Pic of my 1st ever conger, by no means a monster, but a conger all the same

are you sure thats a conger?eric was using lug about that size at the weekend i think he started diggin in dublin but ended up in china well done lads ,fair play mark for bursting your conger cherry something i havnt done yet but will try harder this year
Nice to get the conger off the list, defo got the taste for them now (catching, not eating I should add), missed a few runs, and lost what felt like a decent fish, couldnt get it out of its hole
Put the conger gear away once I'd caught one, to concentrate on the other fishing.
Roger, I have a spare boat rod/reel if you fancy targetting them sometime soon
nice fishing lads . well done on the conger mark seems us nutters will travel the length and breadth of the country to seek out fish but you gotta love it when it works out and you get your rewards and good man conor, putting you all onto the fish
