people:Tony fella and myself

Duration:5:30pm till 10:30 pm

Tide:hw about 10:20

Weather:very slight breaze, slightly cloudy

Bait:lug, mack and sandeel

Rigs:3 hook clipped and 2 hook flapper

Results:12 whiting (biggest 21cm to tony) 1 dogfish for me, 2 rockling(one each) and a sea scorpion(tony)

took a while for fish to start biting but as we waited we were treated to a magnificent sunset. first fish was a whiting for tony and we had a steady stream of fish till 15 mins before we left when bites stopped. I was keen to get out and christen my new Century carbon metal crest and was delighted with the way it casts and has suprisingly good bite detection. The best baits were lug and sandeel, which accounted for the doggie.

Great spot on this peir no shortage of bits for the night!!bigsod told me he was going to get a doggie out he went with a huge cast 2 minutes later he got one :shock:

must be the luck of the century!!!

nice one lads we will have get out during the week bigsod nice one on the dog not one of us had one in the compo on courtown saturday nite well done

Nice session there lads.
Maybe bigsod is a bit of a psychic, get him to pick the lotto numbers just incase?

Well done bigsod, you have the knack for catching doggies off that pier, i spent 8 hours trying in vain for one there a few weeks ago, finally getting one on the north beach a week later, first since october.
