Fishing in Spain .....

#1 Post by soc »

A long shot folks but anyone out there ever fish Ibiza/Majorca ? Going to that neck of the woods in July and thought I'd bring me new travel rod. Wondering about species and methods ......

Like I said it's a long shot, I won't be hurt if there's no reply !

Hi soc

As it happens I will be there in June but dunno if I will get fishing...

Time spent fishing is never time wasted...

2015 targets - a triggerfish, a specimen bass, a three bearded rockling to complete the set and something big and toothy from certain north Mayo deep water marks

From the harbour in ibiza use small squares squid or bread for mullet. can be good. this is a norm in spain all harbour hold mullet. Fishing in ibiza from shore not a big think with locals so you should do well, they like deep sea or inshore style fishing.

Thanks Spanbear. I was in Menorca few years back and it was much as you said. Most folk were fishing off piers and in harbours for mullet and dorado :?: using bread and sliced cheese :!: as bait. Enjoy your trip Kieran .......if like me you'll have young kids with you then yeah I understand ....... chances for a quick cast will be at a premium but hey ... nothing ventured ......

Cheers
