#1 Post by jonny gilbert »

People:me and my mate mark

Duration:7pm to midnight

Tide:1hr rising 4 dropping

Weather:calm and quite mild

Bait:rag, gutted blacks, squid, mac and blueys

Rigs:flappers and clipped downs

Results: me 9 fish - 2 flounder 3 whiting 3 coalies and a 3lb sea trout. mark 2 fish - flounder and whiting

Report: very nice night first hr was quiet so i set up the distance gear and put one out. mean while as i was setting up the distance gear mark had his 1st fish a flounder of 26cm. it went quite again for 45mins and then i hit my first fish a whiting of 25cm about 30 yards out on a chunk of bluey. soon after mark got his 2nd fish a whiting of 23cm and not to be out done i pulled a double of flounder. we moved down onto the beach at bout 10pm and as i was goin back to get my rod which was around 20 to 30 yards out i got a crack bite i lifted the rod and waited for another good pull and then lifted into the fish. i couldn't see what it was until it was 10yards from me and even then i'd no idea what it was i said to myself its a good flounder then i seen it was a round fish and said again its a good coalie i beached and then though bass until i got closer and then noticed it was a nice sea trout of 3lb happy days unhooked it and return him back of the sea. after that i had a double coalie, then a double whiting and to end the nit a coalie at distance. most of the coalies where in and around the 20 to 27cm area the flounder where all in and around 22 to 26cm. all my fish fell to straight blueys and mark had fresh rag and mac. all fish where return to fight another day

excellent session jonny :D :D :D i've often wondered about fishing off that structure, being high up i thought it might add 30 yards or so to your casting ability. well done on the sea trout, he was a monster 8) 8) 8) 8) they must have been crusing up and down that stretch of coast last night   all i have to do now is catch one of em

Nice session. Bet the sea trout was the cherry on the cake though.
Well done on the releasing of all fish.

They are a frozen bait bought, i think they are from spain or somewhere. they are really good for doggies and rays and stuff. i think they are a great bait. I would now look for them before mackerel tbh
