Bray Harbor 18/2/09

#1 Post by Cormdogg »

Me

8.45 - 10.15

Muscle - sand eel - mack

2 rods, Two hook clip down pennel, 3 hook flappers

Weather: gin flat-little nippy-foggy, tide at its height at 7 (not sure how to report this)

Results 25 plus whiting

Didn't get out at early as I planned, Spent a lot time making of messy time making muscle sausages, a labour intensive and dirty job - not worth the hassle in my opinion.

I put the pennel out far with the muscle sausage and hooks tipped with mack. Only whiting taking nibbles out of it, Re baited it 3 times over the hour Got one big knock and was on but whatever it was must've spit the hook, definitely not a whiting. Put both rods out with flappers after a while

Nothing on my first cast with the other rod then at about 9.15. It was singles, doubles, trebles of whiting all to mack. The key I think was glow maggots on one flapper and glo beads above the hooks on the other and possibly the WD40! Bites within 60 seconds of hitting the water on both rods, I was constantly reeling in, dehooking and recasting

Most fish I have ever gotten from shore apart from Mack in one session. I was dissapointed I got no rockling or flatties but you cant win em all

So I beat the solunar table which predicted a poor nights fishing. I only left because I didn't want anymore whiting floating around. I think only about 4 didn't swim off happy. Whiting have a tendancy to deep hook but with the glo maggs none were hooked further than the lip, Ill take a pic of them and post them, I cant even remember where I got them and I lost one set unfortunately. No crab last night either so Ill be back to Bray soon.

Camera phone strikes again my digital's gone awol!
