Shannon town angling club are having the first competition of the year of Kilkee beach on Sunday the 8th of march with check in at the band stand at 11:30 am. 30 euros for the year to join and 10 years for each comp.

Never actually fished a competition, but wouldn't mind giving it a try, is it ok to turn up on the day... If it is, is there anything specific needed

Yes just turn up on the day. 30 euros to join for the year which covers insurance, 10 euros for the comp which makes the prizes and 2 euro for a biggest fish pool. Fish from 12 until 4pm with all fish caught released unless you want to keep them for the table where the usual practise is to cut there tails off. Meet half an hour before hand. It's all fairly relaxed and if your new the lads ,especially Tom the club secretary, will help you through it. It's great way of learning new information about marks and It's helped my fishing no end
